The image I chose to adapt is Monet’s water lilies pond because the painting shows the beauty of the water lilies and the cleanness of the pond, but due to the industrial business, the water pollution destroys the view the in the painting. My ideas for this project are always base on the paintings; the initial work is based on van Gogh’s starry night, I put the logo of the dream work on the moon in the painting to establish the idea of dream, but the subject is too small, it cannot clearly shown. The next idea is the painting called sunflowers also by van Gogh; I wanted to put the sunflowers on a coffin in the funeral to demonstrate how living things wither, and finally develop to the water lilies. I reinterpret the painting by adding garbage and pollution in the pond to show the present of the environmental issue in the society. When I was in elementary, I watched many videos about global warming, it gets me very interested in environment, therefore, in a way, it kind of influences my idea for the artwork.
